The Bar

People in the surrounding Elko area have no problem finding Matties the place to be for a great time. We’re able to accommodate the varying work schedules of the area mining business’s to the 9:00 to 5:00 business person.

The bar opens early each day at 8:30 a.m. so that all your favorite sporting events can be viewed anytime on our 6 HD televisions.

Happy hours are 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. every week day. It is a great time to unwind after a busy day at the office.

Adjoining the bar is the patio; better known as "The Rock". It is a favorite in the summer. This huge rock table is great for after work relaxation or larger gatherings such as birthdays or anniversaries.

Wing Ding Wednesday is always a fun night to break up the middle of the week. Karaoke Thursday is guaranteed to be a blast; it’s known to last well into the early hours of Friday morning.

During the year we have several traditions that are widely known. Mattie Gras is a welcome break from the winter blahs. Frog Jumping is a huge hit. The winning pot has been known to be as large as $13,900.00. August is always a hot month, the annual Homemade Bikini contest appeals to both men and women. The grand prize of $10,000.00 makes the creative competition quite challenging. On Black Friday, meet in pink for Cleavage for the Cause Contest.

The Restaurant

At Matties customer service is the number one concern of our staff. Our first priority is your comfort; while providing you with great food and services every visit. Our menu has American style food with everything from hamburgers, steak, shrimp, and pasta dishes. One of the favorites on the menu is the ½ pound hamburger with home made fries. We also serve breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. daily.

Matties has a hometown theme that promotes what a great town Elko is. The mural depicts many aspects of our community.

While your enjoying your meal. Keep the kids entertained with the posters for the children’s coloring contests. Matties also has the game room to occupy them when they finish their meal. Make sure to fill out the postcard with your birthday information. We can send you a birthday card with a discount offer for your birthday when it rolls around.

Banquet Room

Matties has a private banquet room that seats 20 people. If you’re looking for larger seating for bigger groups we can section off the restaurant to accommodate groups of 50 people. We take care of all your dining needs.

The Mural

The Mural was completed in May of 2003. The Elko High School Art Club created this interpretation of Elko and the surrounding area.

This mural gives a great overview of all the attractions from the town of Lamoille all along the highway back to Elko and the interesting attractions in the city of Elko.

Just about everything in Elko and the adjacent area is included in the mural. We hope you are as intrigued by this unique work of art as we are. It is just one of the wonderful attractions you will find when visiting our restaurant and bar.
